Chef Katie is a 2012 graduate of the Iowa Culinary Institute in Ankeny, Iowa. Katie worked as a chef in the Des Moines area before the west coast got her attention. In 2016, she moved to Napa Valley, California to work for Douglas Keane and his two Michelin starred team along with Los Angeles based chef, Sang Yoon, at Two Birds/One Stone in St. Helena, California. While in California, Katie was exposed to countless new Asian ingredients as well as the bountiful produce that California is able to grow. This would greatly impact Katie and would shape the influence she had on food as whole.
In 2018, Katie had the opportunity to fly to Chicago to stage at the three Michelin starred, world renowned restaurant, Alinea. In 2019, Katie headed to Healdsburg, California to stage at newly awarded three Michelin starred, SingleThread Farms. Each stage was an incredible experience to be hands on in two of the worlds best restaurants.
In 2019, Katie decided it was time to end her chapter in California and make the journey home to Iowa. Katie was inspired and determined to create a dining experience that would impact the Des Moines area dining scene.
Currently, Katie is a private chef. She enjoys curating a personalized menu and experience for her customers. Each event is customized to the ideas of the host.
